Mucoactive medicines are most often prescribed by family doctors at primary care stage for cough treatment. Fixed combinations of some of them contribute to a more complete and complex effect on pathogenetic mechanisms of cough, potentiate and complement the effects of each other, increase the effectiveness of therapy and promote a more rapid recovery. For example, a combination of acetylcysteine and ambroxol helps to restore all parts of the disturbed MCC when coughing, helps effectively combat intoxication. The combination of ambroxol and loratadine contributes to more rapid relief of symptoms of acute respiratory infection, which are associated with allergic inflammation. And the appointment of an exogenous proteolytic enzyme serratiopeptidase reduces the duration of treatment of respiratory diseases, increases penetration of antibiotics into a lung tissue.
